Galentine’s Day: Ladies Celebrating Ladies
“Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst.” – Leslie Knope on Galentine’s Day
If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know by now that two of my favorite things are strong female friendships and the color pink. Cue Galentine’s Day: the perfect holiday to celebrate one while dressing up in the other!
In honor of ladies celebrating ladies, I teamed up with some other local blogger babes to throw a galentine’s event of our own. I’m so fortunate to have met these incredible gals and be a part of our blogging group where we can support, encourage and celebrate each other. There’s no group of women I’d rather celebrate strong female friendships with! P.S. They’re all amazing fashion bloggers so you should give them a follow too!
Anahata Collaborative was the perfect place for us to host our celebration. The industrial-chic space had beautiful natural lighting, feminine accents and is located in the heart of Uptown. The owner Lara provided a great selection of decor and accents to truly make the party set up our own. We set up our table in front of a garage-door style wall to let in all the light. It was the perfect place to gather around and talk blogging over a few cocktails with a backdrop of falling snow. I couldn’t recommend this space enough for someone looking to host a small get-together like ours or a slightly larger event.
When a group of bloggers host a celebration, you know there are going to be photos. Thanks to Katzie of Katzie & Ben Photography, our photos were amazing! We shared a lot of laughs while awkwardly trying to “pose naturally” but Katzie put us completely at ease. A big fan of “Parks and Rec” herself, she dropped as many Leslie Knope Galentine’s Day quotes as the rest of us! I was so impressed with her vision and ability to get the best out of us at the event but blown away when our photos showed up in my email inbox the next day. Katzie is a true professional and a rockstar!
Bree is a natural party planner and the sweet treats and fresh flowers (her number one tip!) gave our day the perfect galentine’s feel. The Cutwater Spirits provided by Carrie were the perfect choice to toast a day of friendship. The vodka mule was my favorite and the canned cocktails were so convenient. (I’ll definitely be using these at the cabin this summer!) I’m so thankful to the Minneapolis Bloggers Union for bringing these ladies into my life. I’m already looking forward to our next event!
Do you celebrate Galentine’s Day? Who are the ladies in your life you would like to celebrate?
