Photo Diary: The Farm at South Mountain

A few months ago, I took a short trip to Arizona and I have not been able to stop thinking about The Farm at South Mountain since! Typically, when I go on vacation, I try not to eat at the same place twice, wanting to get the full culinary experience of the city and explore as many locations as possible.  I couldn’t help but make an exception for The Farm.

We stayed at the Legacy Golf Resort and The Farm was pretty much right next door. Every time we passed the farm, we were intrigued by the cute signage out front and the small glimpses of animals and foliage we could see from the road. Finally, a few days into our trip, my mom and I went for lunch and it did not disappoint! We were so taken by it’s charm, views and flavorful bites that we convinced my stepdad we needed to go again to experience breakfast.

The Farm boasts three separate restaurants, one for each meal of the day. They all have their own type of experience but all feature farm-to-table fare. The Morning Glory Cafe is their cozy little breakfast area offering everything from fruit and yogurt to house baked pastries, French toast and omelets. Lunch is served at The Farm Kitchen and features a more a la carte menu. After ordering your food inside a farmhouse-style kitchen, your lunch order will be served up through a window looking over the picnic-chic seating area. Dinner at Quiessence is a slightly more formal affair featuring contemporary cuisine. The outdoor venue offers fireplace seating, lush greenery and private dining under a pergola.

The Farm truly has something for everyone. If you are visiting for lunch, you can check out yard games such as bean bags (corn hole), jenga or horseshoes. A gift shop sells everything from locally made artwork and jewelry to garden and kitchen products. Learn more about your favorite hobbies with classes taught in cooking, gardening, art and health (yoga!). They even offer a Soil & Seed Garden Grower’s Market on Saturdays where people can come and purchase fresh produce, flowers, herbs and eggs fresh off the farm!

I can’t wait for my next trip to Phoenix so I can experience a night at The Farm in Quiessence. In the meantime, join me in reminiscing over these photos that make me want to book my flight immediately:
