Sweet as a Peach Baby Shower

When my sister found out in January that they were expecting, we never would have predicted we’d be trying to throw a baby shower in the middle of a global pandemic! Challenge accepted COVID!!

One of the things we wanted to be very mindful of was keeping the numbers low and ensuring that social distancing was possible. Thankfully, our mom has a large deck that’s perfect for entertaining and a decent-size backyard to spread out, mingle and play beanbags!

To help keep our numbers small, we decided to host two showers: a brunch for family and a backyard fiesta for friends. We quickly went from planning a pandemic party to hosting TWO showers in ONE DAY!

Both showers had the same theme: Sweet as a Peach. This allowed us to use the same decor and many of the same table settings for an easier transition between parties.

Baby Behr’s Baby Shower Brunch featured a mom-osa bar, biscuit buffet and peach macarons. Both the biscuits and macarons were custom-made for us by Josef’s Bakery in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin (you can also find them on Facebook here and Instagram here) and were soooooo good. My family was actually fighting over who got the leftover biscuits! Our jams were purchased from a cute little shop in Pepin, Wisconsin, right along the Great River Road (and one of our favorite wineries).

The parents-to-be are huge fans of Mexican food so having Cancun cater in a taco bar was a no-brainer. Plus, I’ll take any excuse I can get to bring home a container of their white salsa and chips! They individually wrapped servings of taco shells to keep things COVID-friendly and our guests were able to build their own tacos and nachos with the additional toppings. Finally, no taco bar is complete without margaritas! Cancun added the finishing touch with a 2 gallon pitcher of peach margaritas, tequila on the side.

We all know Target is a favorite of mine (seriously, I might need an intervention) and much of our decor was found in Bullseye’s Playground (formerly known as the 1 Spot or dollar aisle). I found all of our citrus decor there, the utensils and plates were found in the party section and the balloons and twine for the peach balloon garland were purchased there too.

Amazon came to the rescue for a last minute napkin purchase and the baby blocks were a previous Amazon purchase for Baby Behr’s gender reveal a few months ago!

It was such a special day and I’m so glad we were able to celebrate Baby Behr and the parents-to-be. If you’re having any social-distanced get-togethers right now, I’d love to hear about them!

P.S. Don’t forget the hand san!
